Oil Painting on Canvas of an 18th Century Gentleman
Early 20th century unframed canvas of an 18th century gentleman from listed artist, Charles Franklin Chamberlain. He was an American Impressionist, born in 1871. He studied in Detroit, New York, and Paris. After returning to Michigan, he was a drawing instructor at the University of Michigan. He also operated a chicken and honey farm where he painted in his studio. This patina and wear is everything. It is a perfection that cannot be replicated. Perfect alone or re-stretched and inserted into an antique frame.
