Early 20th century etching by listed artist known as the "Baron of Rye" or his true name Cedric Hodgson. His etchings were mainly of local shipping and architecture  although little is known about him otherwise. This piece features an etching of the Barbican Lewes. Lewes Castle, begun soon after 1066 by William de Warenne as his stronghold in Sussex and added to over the next 300 years, culminating in the magnificent Barbican.
